Hyde-Addison ES Feeder Pattern
What is a feeder pattern school?
A feeder-pattern school is a school that a student has the right to attend based on completion of the terminal grade of a student’s current school. This assignment only happens during the years a student moves from elementary to middle school, or from middle school to high school, or from an education campus to high school.
Where can I learn more about DCPS feeder patterns?
Check out the DCPS Feeder booklet online. Updated annually and available in English and Spanish, this booklet defines the PK3-12th grade options and pathways that DCPS offers students and families.
What are Hyde-Addison’s feeder pattern schools?
Students who complete 5th grade at Hyde-Addison have the right to attend Hardy Middle School (grades 6-8) then Wilson High School (grades 9-12). We encourage families to learn more by visiting their school websites and attending one of their Open Houses, which usually occur in the winter or spring.

Music and the Arts
Hardy has an outstanding instrumental music program from beginners to more advanced players. Orchestra and band are offered as electives. The groups play Winter and Spring Concerts at the school, and have performed on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.
There are two fine art studios, and instruction in Digital Arts.
Foreign Languages
Spanish and Italian have been taught at Hardy for a number of years. In the 2016-17 school year, Hardy inaugurated Chinese study in a Confucius Classroom, thanks to a new partnership with George Mason University’s Confucius Institute, a program that funds Chinese language and culture programs at schools across the country.
