To help the bussing families get to know each other better and share their experiences of the start of the school year, one of our bussing families (Rob and Catriona Dearn) will be putting on coffee at 8am next Thursday morning (September 7). This will be an informal gathering on the sidewalk outside St Johns Church immediately after the buses depart for school.

It is hoped that this might become a fortnightly event and go some way to replacing the lively catch-ups Hyde-Addison parents engaged in on the school yard in previous years. It may also be a good way to find a local family who you can reach out to in emergency situations when you or your child's carer is running late for bus pickup. Members of the Hyde-Addison leadership team will endeavor to join the group from time to time.

If this first catch up is a success, it is hoped that parents will volunteer to take turns to supply coffee. This is (and will be) a parent-led event, so if you have any questions, please reach out to Rob Dearn (202 413 6943 orrobert.dearn@gmail.com) in the first instance.
